Dye Sublimation Explained
Dye Sublimation is a way of printing specially prepared, polymer coated materials; metal, leather, plastic and pottery. The process allows the image to be absorbed into the item rather than applied to the surface.
Because the printing is done using a dye rather than an ink, it is applied to the item using a heat press where the dye turns into a gas and enters into the molecular structure of the item, where It then cools and returns to a solid as a dye.
The benefit of the process is that all printed pottery is dishwasher safe, all T-shirts are washable and can be ironed without causing fading or leaving a sticky residue on the plate of the iron!
This is a much simplified explanation of how the system works, but please feel free to contact us if you would like to know more.
Personal Print Design can produce a large range of items using Dye Sublimation which are perfect for promotional items or gifts where quality really counts. The process allows Personal Print Design to supply you with however many items you need even for very small quantities.
